Environmental Policy

Purpose and scope

Ropo Group’s environmental policy outlines the environmental principles that all employees, directors, officers, board members, consultants, and other personnel under the leadership of Ropo Group are expected to adhere to.

The objectives of this policy are to:

  • Support our sustainability commitments
  • Reduce our negative environmental impact
  • Increase environmental awareness within the organization
  • Communicate our environmental guidelines to stakeholders
  • Support decision-making throughout the organization

In addition to the content of this policy, Ropo Group is committed to fully comply with applicable legislation, official regulations, and operating practices to ensure an ethical business, while continuously improving environmentally friendly practices.

Communication and management

Ropo Group primarily communicates its environmental sustainability efforts externally through its sustainability report and the Group’s website. Ropo Group’s employees receive up-to-date information on environmental issues through internal communication channels.

Ropo Group’s environmental management system is certified under the ISO 14001 standard. This standard provides a framework for the continuous development of processes and practices that minimize negative environmental impacts.

Sustainable invoice lifecycle services

At Ropo, sustainability forms an integral part of the group’s strategy and values. Our sustainability strategy centres on an inspiring working environment, responsible service delivery and a climate-friendly invoice lifecycle. We want to provide our clients with a service that is even more digital, data-driven and sustainable in all aspects.

Environmental commitment

Ropo Group is committed to actively reducing its environmental footprint and contributing to a sustainable future. Our aim is to provide our clients with an invoice lifecycle service that has a minimal negative impact on the planet.

As our business relies on our proprietary technology and we serve our clients through our Ropo One~ platform, the most significant environmental impacts within our value chain are linked to data hosting, ICT, and IT hardware, as well as software services. Additionally, a substantial portion of our emissions is related to multi-channel invoice delivery service, which includes paper invoice printing and logistics processes handled by our partners.

Decarbonization Plan

  • We promote the digitalization of invoicing processes, significantly reducing paper usage and logistics-based emissions.
    • We reduce business travel and prioritize climate-friendly online meetings.
    • We transition to low-emission and electric vehicles by 2028.
    • Our IT equipment is covered by carbon offsetting and recycling measures
    • We recycle office supplies including paper, plastics, metal, and kitchen waste, and ensure hazardous waste is sorted separately.
    • Our digital waste is managed by our leasing partners.
    • We engage with our landlords to prioritize renewable and mission-free energy sources and carefully select waste management providers that ensure quality service and provide comprehensive waste reporting. Our goal is to use green electricity in all our locations.
    • We aim to reduce energy consumption across our operations and collaborate with partners who share this commitment.
    • We continuously improve the measurement of our environmental impact across the value chain and work with key suppliers to reduce emissions.
    • We transparently monitor and report emissions from our operations following the GHG protocol and strive to reduce our carbon footprint per invoice.

Through these actions, we actively contribute to a more sustainable future and align with global climate

Sustainable procurements

We work with a wide range of suppliers from services such as data hosting, ICT, IT hardware and software and printing services. We strive to choose suppliers that we perceive sustainable, preferably with certifications such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO/IEC 27001.

Supply chain management is governed by our Code of Conduct, available at ropo.com, that includes our expectations for everyone within Ropo Group as well as our partners and suppliers.

We continuously evaluate and improve our procurement processes to advance our sustainability goals. We also take environmental aspects into account in all our premise renovation projects.

Compliance, responsibility and review

Ropo is committed to complying with all relevant environmental legislation and regulations. Our management team is responsible for the implementation and oversight of this policy, ensuring that environmental considerations are integrated into our decision-making processes.

Ropo will regularly monitor and evaluate our environmental performance, setting new targets and making improvements as necessary. Annual reports will be published to track our progress and demonstrate our commitment to continuous improvement.
