In this Employee Spotlight, we quickly introduce our colleague Christian Krekula, who works with us as a Head of Pan-Nordic Sales.
As Head of Pan-Nordic Sales, Christian focuses on driving new sales for Ropo’s cross-border solutions across the Nordics. His work combines identifying and presenting solutions to potential clients with internal coordination to support sales across countries.
As both the Pan-Nordic offering and his role are still new, much of Christian’s work has been about building the fundamentals for future growth—developing sales processes, shaping the offering, and strengthening collaboration between local and Nordic sales.
“One big task has been to set up new sales processes, offering, prospecting, collaboration between local sales and Nordic—and in general set the scene for our Nordic growth ambitions according to our strategy,” he says.
Working in sales also means constant variety, which is something Christian values.
“In sales there are no typical days and it can vary a lot, which I like.”
At the moment, his focus is on two major Nordic-level sales opportunities with June deadlines, requiring extensive writing and internal coordination.
“At the moment my days are filled with lots of writing and internal coordination to answering two quite big sales opportunities we have on a Nordic level, including tenders.”
When asked to describe Ropo’s culture, Christian highlights three key aspects:
“The straightforwardness in everything we do, result orientation and respect for each other’s differences—letting people be themselves.”
When it comes to motivation, it’s the tangible results that matter most.
“Seeing your efforts leading to concrete results motivates me a lot.”
Based in Uppsala, about 80 kilometers from the nearest office in Stockholm, Christian’s work is a mix of client meetings, office presence, and remote work.
“It’s a mix, but living in Uppsala means working remote is quite common for me.”
And when asked about his favorite way to spend a sunny summer day, the answer is simple:
“I’m looking forward to just chilling out with my family and taking the days as they come without any schedule,” he says.
“And this summer Sweden will play the World Cup in Football—so let’s hope for some magic there.”
