Employee Spotlight: Oona Koponen, Payment Team Lead

In this first Employee Spotlight article of 2026, we introduce our colleague Oona Koponen, who works with us in Kuopio as a Payment Transaction Specialist & Team Lead.

The Payment Transaction Management team, which Oona is part of, manages the payment transactions of Ropo’s client companies, processes unapplied payments, and handles inquiries from various stakeholders.

As a Team Leader, one of Oona’s key responsibilities is to monitor the quality and smoothness of her team’s work using different metrics:

“I am responsible for guiding the team’s daily work and ensuring that tasks and resources are allocated efficiently. In addition, I take part in the continuous development of payment transaction processes,” she summarizes.

Oona describes Ropo’s culture as “open, collaborative, and evolving.” The most rewarding part of her job is strongly connected to these values:

“The most rewarding part of my work is when I’m able to support my colleagues, even across team boundaries.”

Working closely with her team has taught Oona at least one very important skill during her Ropo career: prioritizing and delegating tasks.

“In the Accounts Receivable team, certain periods are particularly busy. Especially during those times, it’s important to know how to prioritize and divide tasks so that the work gets done in the best possible way,” she explains.
