Broman Group Streamlined Its B2B Invoicing with Ropo

Broman Group, a Finnish family-owned company, has modernized its B2B invoicing with Ropo’s invoice lifecycle service, which is in use in Finland and Sweden. The service covers invoice delivery, reminders, and collection services, as well as customer service related to payments – complemented by comprehensive reporting.

Broman Group, celebrating its 60th anniversary, is one of the leading companies in its field in Finland. The group has expanded strongly into Sweden and also operates in Estonia. Its subsidiaries include Motonet, AD VaraosaMaailma, AD Finland, and the procurement, logistics, and warehousing company Broman Logistics. The group’s revenue exceeds 500 million euros, with approximately half of its volume coming from automotive and spare parts products.

A partner that scales with growth

International operations and growing invoice volumes require flexibility and reliability from an invoicing partner. For Broman Group, it is essential that Ropo’s service offering adapts alongside business growth. Varis sees Ropo’s key strengths as the ability to develop, scale, and operate internationally.

“It’s important to us that our partners move in the same direction as we do. As we grow and operate across multiple markets, it’s a significant advantage that Ropo can scale with us and deliver services across the Nordics as well. It reduces unnecessary friction and makes everyday operations smoother,” says Antti Varis, CFO of Broman Group.

The collaboration with Ropo began in 2014, with services introduced in phases. Before adopting Ropo’s invoice lifecycle service, Broman Group handled sales invoicing and payment reminders in-house, while debt collection was outsourced to a separate partner. Processes were largely manual and tied up significant financial administration resources – including time spent on sending invoices and reminders.

“We had a lot of work to do ourselves, which created unnecessary manual burden. When we adopted Ropo’s invoice lifecycle service, many everyday challenges were resolved at once. We gained significantly more efficiency, smoother operations, and cost savings – while being able to redirect our financial administration resources toward developing our own operations and supporting growth,” Varis says.

According to Varis, systematic receivables management has accelerated payments and supported credit risk management. Invoicing, reminder, and collection processes can also be flexibly adapted, enabling different types of client relationships to be managed in a controlled manner.

One platform – full visibility

The foundation of Ropo’s invoicing solution is the proprietary Ropo One® platform, which connects invoicing, payment monitoring, sales ledger, and receivables management into one seamless flow.

“Our single-platform service ensures process transparency and real-time access to data. Invoice and payment activity can be easily monitored through Ropo OneView® – the analytics service built into the Ropo One® platform – which brings all data together into clear graphs and KPI dashboards,” says Jani Rönkkö, Key Account Manager at Ropo.

According to Varis, tracking data in Ropo OneView® is straightforward and helps see the financial picture at a glance.

“We monitor how quickly payments come in and whether there are any anomalies. When reporting is regular and clear, we can react to any changes in good time,” Varis says.

A partnership without friction

The partnership with Ropo has, in Varis’s words, been “comfortable co-navigation.” He particularly values smooth communication and the fact that development work has progressed successfully in line with shared goals.

“Ropo’s strength is that we don’t have problems – and that is actually quite an unbeatable advantage,” Varis notes.

Behind the smooth partnership is also a shared way of working and understanding business. From this perspective, a common background feels like a natural part of the collaboration.

“Both Broman Group and Ropo have strong roots in Eastern Finland. While the choice of partner isn’t based on geography, Finnish identity – and Eastern Finnish identity in particular – holds value for us. It’s great that both companies have made their mark on the world from this region – Broman Group from Joensuu and Ropo from Kuopio,” Varis sums up.
