Employee Spotlight: Jani Heimonen, Technical Team Lead

In this Employee Spotlight, we quickly introduce our colleague Jani Heimonen, who works with us as a Team Lead of the Implementation team.

The Implementation team plays a key role in ensuring that client solutions are delivered efficiently and with high quality. The team works closely with project managers and development teams to support client implementations, data integrations, and continuous improvements.

As a Team Lead, Jani combines strong teamwork with hands-on expertise in his daily work.

“My day usually starts with reviewing and prioritizing tasks together with project managers. After morning meetings, I focus on developing solutions for client data imports and events. In the afternoons, I work closely with the development team, for example through code reviews,” he describes.

Recently, Jani has been working on a major migration project to shut down the legacy platform in Norway – an important step in modernizing our systems and simplifying our technology landscape.

Jani describes Ropo’s culture as “team spirit for client success.” This mindset is also strongly reflected in what he finds most rewarding in his work:

“The most rewarding part of my work is seeing our clients go live and thrive in their business.”

During his long career at Ropo, Jani has developed valuable skills, especially when it comes to understanding client needs:

“One key skill I’ve developed is patience – taking the time to truly understand our clients’ pain points.”

When it comes to everyday choices, Jani has a clear preference: when choosing between paper and digital invoices, he goes with digital.

“Digital – otherwise I’d lose all my invoices.”

Having been with Ropo for over 20 years, Jani has had a unique opportunity to see the company’s growth journey from close:

“What has stood out the most is witnessing how the company has grown over the years – together with such great colleagues.”
